This is my co-worker, Marcus. He's quite the snappy dresser, as I was quick to point out the first time I met him. Marcus is originally from New York City, as evidenced by his highly evolved fashion sense that is unlike that of the majority of the Seattle male population. He agreed to let me photograph him so I could share his style with you all: little did he know, he'd be subject to my endless parade of questions regarding his style and shopping habits and obsessive picture-snapping (thanks for being a good sport, Marcus!). He seems to own a well-balanced, varied repertoire of garments that are both professional and true to his personal style. This is just a small sampling of a couple days throughout the last work week...
This is a perfect example of tastefully personalized style, executed flawlessly by a man who owns it. When I asked him where he typically buys his clothes, he smiled and said, "Weeeeell, I do a lot of my shopping back in New York..." (not helpful, Marcus.) However, he was quick to say that he shops at Macy's, Nordstrom Rack and H&M: all very accessible stores for any budget and personal taste. See, gentlemen? It can be done. Cultivating a personal style just takes a little bit of time and effort, but it's an investment I feel is well worth it.
